Football – UEFA Nations League

Current World Cup trophy holders from France are visibly having some problems with their appearances in the UEFA Nations League campaign, as they haven’t tasted victory in all of their previous four fixtures, and are definitely waiting for the continuation of the competition eager to improve their general performance.

In their latest international appearance at home against the Croats, the French side made a disappointing setback when they narrowly lost the clash with a minimal result, even though they had plenty of time and opportunities to equalize.

The French squad misses goalkeeper Lloris (139/0, Tottenham), defenders Digne (46/0, Aston Villa), Theo Hernandez (7/1, Milan), Lucas Hernandez (32/0, Bayern), Kimpembe (28/0, PSG), midfielders Rabiot (29/2, Juventus), Kante (53/2, Chelsea), and forwards Benzema (97/37, Real Madrid), Coman (40/5, Bayern), and Ben Yedder (19/3, Monaco).

The Austrians are doing a slightly better job so far in the group shared with Croatia, France, and, Denmark, as they managed to record an opening victory against the previously mentioned Croats, but lost the momentum ever since, coming up with two defeats and one draw(home against France).

They are currently sitting at the 3rd spot in the group, one ladder above their opponents in the upcoming clash, also having much room to improve their general performance so far in the campaign.

The Austrians miss midfielders Laimer (24/2, RB Leipzig), Lazaro (36/3, Torino), and forward Kalajdzic (15/4, Wolves) compared to previous call-up. They also didn’t invite central defender Dragovic (100/2, Crvena Zvezda), midfielder Ilsanker (61/0, Eintracht Frankfurt), Schaub (29/8, Hannover) compared to the previous call-ups.

Preventing the unthinkable

Surely, with another defeat here, France will face a realistic chance of being relegated, and with that thing in mind, their maximum engagement in recording a victory is highly likely.

Expectations are definitely high for the upcoming clash, and undeniably, the home side possesses the quality, just with a little more confident approach, and they should be able to outscore the inconvenient Austrians at Stade de France, one way or the other.

Despite quite a few players being absent, they still should be able to get the needed victory against Austrians who seem to be in kind of a form downtrend.
